THIRD ANNUAL X-TREME TRAIL CHALLENGE

This Event has become an Annual Event at Ride The West. Every year BCHWa improves the course and difficulty, resulting in some wild rides and some top performances by some incredible horses & riders. We are excited about this event because anyone can participate!!! The trail course is constructed on site and we will run two Open Division rounds on Saturday, one in the morning, one in the afternoon. The top 12 OVERALL from the combined two rounds on Saturday will compete in the Finals on Sunday at 3:30 pm. We have 3 judges, our Expo Clinicians and some guest judges and similar rules to an AQHA trail competition, with over $1000 in cash and prizes. The event is open to anyone 14 and over, any breed of horse or mule. There will be a day entry fee, and stall fees if you stay over on a first come first served basis. We are going to have a youth lead line division for prizes ONLY, no cash. If you enter into the Youth Division, you CAN NOT be entered in the Open Division.

We do not divide the riders into skill levels, however this is not a beginner's course. Each rider gets a walk through with a judge prior to the round and the list of obstacles will be posted at the Trail Arena prior to the competition. Sample of obstacles: water crossing, mailbox, backing, brush, other animals, bridges, etc. There will be obstacles added to the Finals on Sunday to make the course more difficult. Your standard trail obstacles will be included, as well as some surprises. Rules will be sent with confirmations. Any questions contact susanrae@ridethewest.net.
